Why We Ride

This event is about AIDS and the fact that it has not gone away.

  • It is about  the 40 million people in the world  estimated to be living with HIV/AIDS.

  • It is about the 1.5 million people in the US that have been infected with HIV.

  • It is about the fact that New York is #1 in the U.S. in AIDS cases and AIDS is New York's #2 killer of adults 25-44 years old.

  • It is about the 6,000 people in the world who die every day from AIDS.

  • It is about giving hope and support to the hundreds of people who struggle with HIV and AIDS in our community.

  • It is about making sure our communities receive honest, accurate and up to date information about HIV/AIDS and how to stay safe, reduce risk and make healthy choices.

  • It is about promoting and sharing understanding; the understanding that AIDS is an incurable, but preventable disease.

The AIDS Ride for Life is about the stories yet to be told, the lives yet to be saved, and the dreams yet to be realized.
